I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Bowler to anyone who is needing an Orthopaedic Consultant to support them make decisions about their healing.
I contacted Mr Bowler’s clinic requesting help with a long term torn medial meniscus injury. It had deteriorated to the point that the knee was frequently locking and unreliable.
I was very keen to regain full function of the joint as I am a Yoga Practitioner and Teacher. At my referral appointment Mr Bowler evaluated the MRI and explained the options. We agreed that surgery was worthwhile due to the length of time the injury had been present and the demands I place upon my knee in my Yoga Practice. I recall Mr Bowler took the time to manage my expectations and clarify surgery would not ‘repair’ the joint but remove the torn piece of meniscus. The condition of my knee joint would be a vital factor in relation to my ability to fully rehabilitate.
The surgery took place within 3 weeks of my initial referral. I was back teaching within 3 days (albeit mostly seated) and had the full range of flexion and extension of the joint (gently) within 6 weeks. I am now 16 weeks post-surgery and am mindfully re-teaching my knee to entertain some of the more challenging demands of my Practice. The 2 small incisions were immaculate, healed quickly and are now barely visible. So, the outcome is very positive in my case.
From the moment of my initial contact, I felt I could fully trust Mr Bowler and his team. His secretaries are knowledgeable and caring. I found Mr Bowler approachable and supportive and his attention to my rehabilitation very reassuring whilst realistic and grounded. I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who is needing an Orthopaedic Consultant to support them make decisions about their healing.
